Scottish Style Awards 2011

I was recently invited to the 7th Annual Scottish Style Awards at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Glasgow. I was most honoured to be once again be nominated in one of the categories and most proud and inspired to be amongst hugely creative Scottish designers and fashionistas.

A grand setting for a fabulous occasion.

Established as Scotland’s foremost celebration of creative endeavour, and supported by Glasgow: Scotland with style, the Scottish Style Awards saluted inspirational individuals and enterprises that enrich society through their distinguished activities in fashion, music, the arts, stage, screen and popular culture.

This year’s spectacular ceremony, before a celebrity-studded VIP audience, began with a soundtrack of popping corks at a glittering Moët & Chandon reception. Chambord, France’s Liqueur Royale augmented the reception with a fabulous French Martini cocktail serve after which was followed by a gala dinner.

My wife Alison and I taking in the flashing lights of the red carpet.

Our very own Gianni Colarossi was nominated for Designer of the Year.

The Awards commenced in a suitably stylish fashion thereafter, spanning thirteen prestigious categories, of which I was fortunate to be nominated for ‘Tastemaker of the Year’, and our Head of Menswear, Gianni Colarossi was nominated for ‘Designer of the Year’.

Host of the evening, Radio 1 DJ and TV presenter Nick Grimshaw.

Currently at the top of the UK Charts, Emeli Sande thoroughly deserved her Breakthrough Star award.
