Spring is here and in true Duchamp style we remain staunchly upbeat against the current doom and gloom and hope to bring a little happiness to your life through the purchase of our bold and upbeat products! Our palette for SS09 is an evolution of the previous season covering three main stories... Our launch story is "CAROUSEL" which shows a bold and considered use of colour, influenced by the image '99 cent' photographed by Andreas Gursky, depicting the very ordinary interior of a 99 cent store, which, when observed from a distance reveals a vibrant melange of tones and hues. This palette has in contrast a very considered use of colour, taking the accidental an making it deliberate. 'CAMPION' utilises colours taken from the painting 'Woman with a Pearl Necklace in a Loge' by Mary Stevenson Cassat, where the subtle changes in tone used for the dress worn by the woman contrasts against the neutral background of the theatre where she sits. This palette is dramatic and whimsical, intended to represent high summer.
FLORESTA' inspired by the colours of a thirties floral print, evokes the rich, dark colours of the flora and fauna of the forest, moving away from the brighter colours of the previous season to a more subdued multi coloured palette which is particularly well suited to the re-introduction of larger scale designs.
Our Shirt collection is now one of the best selling in our market and we achieved this by working with the premium Italian mills and using completely exclusive designs. I also have to say, in these difficult times, that I am very proud we are looking to give our customer an even better shirt, striving to improve the quality rather than looking at cheaper sources. We want to give our customer a great experience and a shirt that will make its wearer feel very special, and as you all know, wash, wear and feel great. |
